Sompong Jaroenmuang (Thai: สมพงษ์ เจริญเมือง, born Sompong Pongpiya), was a Muay Thai fighter active in the 1960s.
Biography and career
[edit]Sompong joined the R.S.P camp of Boonsit Swamiphakdi in 1958 and fought under the name Sompong R.S.P. He later joined the Jaroenmuang camp from where he trained for his most notable fights. Sompong only had one occasion to fight for a stadium title when he faced Adul Srisothon for the Rajadamnern Stadium Lightweight (135 lbs) title. He lost the fight by knockout in the second round.[1]
