SmartMoving is a software company based in Dallas, Texas, that develops business management tools for moving and storage companies. Its cloud-based platform is used to manage operations such as sales, dispatch, payments, and storage.

History

SmartMoving was founded in 2019 by Tobe Thompson.[1] In 2022, the company received $41.5 million in growth equity from Mainsail Partners, a private equity firm that invests in software businesses.[2] The funding was reported to support hiring and product expansion.[1]

SmartMoving provides a cloud-based software platform used by moving and storage companies to manage business operations. According to company materials, the software includes tools for customer relationship management, scheduling, invoicing, digital payments, and integration with accounting systems such as QuickBooks.[3]

In 2024, SmartMoving was ranked No. 1,074 on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States, based on a three-year revenue growth rate of 476 percent.[4] It was one of 205 companies from the Dallas–Fort Worth area recognized on the list that year.[5]

Partnerships

In 2023, SmartMoving announced a partnership with National Van Lines as part of its NationalExpress Move affiliate program. The collaboration allows participating movers to use SmartMoving’s software to support booking and managing long-distance moves.[6]
