Early Life and Background

His father walked 15 km daily to work, while his mother taught him to write using his limited fingers. His elder sister and twin brother were pillars of support, making sacrifices to ensure his education. These early years of hardship and familial dedication shaped his determination and mental strength, laying the foundation for his future success in para arm wrestling.

Career

Shrimant Jha began his journey in para-arm wrestling in 2013 after facing rejection from traditional school sports due to his congenital condition—being born with only four fingers on each hand. What started as a personal challenge quickly turned into a professional pursuit, as Jha trained rigorously and entered competitive para-arm wrestling circuits.

He made his international debut in 2013 and soon rose through the ranks with consistent performances. Over the years, he has competed in major para-arm wrestling tournaments globally, steadily building a name for himself in the sport. Known for his strength and technique, Jha specializes in both left and right-hand arm wrestling categories.

His career is marked not only by medals but also by his role in popularizing para-arm wrestling in India. Beyond competitions, he has participated in awareness drives, motivational talks, and has actively encouraged youth with disabilities to explore sports.

Despite limited institutional support early in his career, he continued to train while working full-time as an assistant engineer in a private steel and power company in Chhattisgarh.
