the Sheldon Subdivision is a branchline running from Mason City Iowa to Sheldon Iowa. Major Station points include Clear Lake, Mason City, Garner, Britt, Algona, Emmetsburg, Spencer, Hartley, Sanborn, and Sheldon. There is usually 1 daily train that runs both directions from Mason City to Spencer and vise versa. This train is symbol K41 local job. Running mainly at nighttime this train serves Garner Tanks spur Britt Landus Cooperative Britt NEW Cooperative Wesley Plastics Algona Biodiesel AGP and Emmetsburg POET Bioprocessing. K40 is the Symbol returning to Mason City running also mainly nights with work at Emmetsburg POET bioprocessing Algona Biodiesel AGP and Wesley Plastics sometimes Britt Landus Cooperative and NEW Cooperative depending on the night. The K40 comes on duty out of Spencer on Monday Wednesday Friday evenings anytime from 1700 (5pm) to 2300 (11pm) And sometimes will still be running east of Britt after sunrise but this is extremely rare to see. K41 is on duty out of Mason City Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights anywhere from 1800 (6pm) to 2300 (11pm) K42 is the local day job that runs from Spencer to Sheldon sometimes but mainly just to Hartley on duty at 0900 Monday-Friday. These guys cover the Spencer Shines spur switching Spencer CF Industries and Pattison Hartley Valero Renewables CFE Cooperative and Hartley Agstate cooperative switching jobs on Hartley turn. and Sanborn CFE cooperative and Sheldon Norwesco Plastics on Sheldon turn. This line Interchanges the Canadian National Railways Garner Subdivision at Garner Union Pacific Estherville Subdivision at Emmetsburg and Union Pacific Worthington Subdivision at Sheldon. The Union Pacific also has trackage rights from Emmetsburg to Hartley to serve the Hartley Valero and Agstate plants delivering Grain Ethanol and DDGs (Dried distillers grain) all Union Pacific traffic is as needed so could run anytime when its needed. The Canadian National (Ex Iowa Northern symbols) also have trackage rights from Nora Springs Iowa to Garner Iowa running Grain trains and local jobs as needed movement. CPKC (Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway) is the current owner of the Sheldon Subdivision with previous owners being the Canadian Pacific Railway DM&E (Dakota Minnesota And Eastern Railway) IC&E (Iowa Chicago and Eastern Railway) I&M Rail link Soo line and the Milwaukee road. This line passes through the cities of Mason City IA Clear Lake IA Ventura IA Garner IA Duncan IA Britt IA Hutchins IA Wesley IA Sexton IA Algona IA Harbortan IA Whittemore IA Cylinder IA Emmetsburg IA Ruthven IA Dickens IA Spencer IA Everly IA Hartley IA Sanborn IA and Sheldon IA.
