Sean Thomas (born July 2, 2001) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and record producer known for his collaborations with pop artists including Debbie Gibson, Joey McIntyre, New Kids on the Block, and New Edition. He has contributed as a writer, producer, and mixer on multiple Billboard-charting albums and has worked on music for large-scale tours and televised performances.
Career
[edit]Thomas grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, playing music from a young age and developing a passion for songwriting and production early on. While involved in acting and voice work during his teens, it was through a musical connection on the set of the Hallmark film Summer of Dreams in 2016 that he met Debbie Gibson, sparking a long-standing creative partnership.[1]
In addition to an early focus on music, Thomas became an accomplished voice actor, appearing in animated series such as My Little Pony, Beyblade Burst Evolution, Dinosaur Train, and Super Dinosaur.[2][3]
He co-wrote and produced several tracks on Gibson’s 2021 studio album, The Body Remembers, which debuted at number 86 on the US Billboard Top Album Sales chart.[4] The pair collaborated again on the holiday album Winterlicious in 2022, which peaked at number 91 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales chart.[5][6]
Through his work with Gibson, Thomas met Joey McIntyre, with whom he co-wrote eight out of ten songs and solely produced the 2025 album Freedom. The album debuted at number 17 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.[7][8]
Thomas co-wrote, produced, and mixed six songs on New Kids on the Block’s 2024 album Still Kids, their first studio release in over a decade.[9] The album debuted at number 4 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and number 56 on the Billboard 200.[10]
In addition to his studio work, Thomas has contributed music to major live productions, including New Kids on the Block’s Mixtape Tour (2019 and 2022) and New Edition’s Culture Tour and Legacy Tour. He also worked on music for the joint performance by New Kids on the Block and New Edition at the 2021 American Music Awards.
Thomas also releases music under his own name. His most recent single, "She's Mine", was written, produced, and mixed independently, and was accompanied by a music video directed by John Asher.[11]
