Scott Koondel (born January 27, 1964) is an American media executive, producer, and entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Sox Entertainment, a production and distribution company focused on developing, packaging, and licensing television content across broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms. Koondel previously held senior executive roles at CBS Corporation and Paramount, where he played a significant role in shaping content licensing and digital distribution strategies.
Career

[edit]Koondel began his career in television at WPIX-TV in New York, where he served as National Sales Manager from 1990 to 1993. He later joined Paramount Domestic Television, a predecessor of CBS Studios, as Manager of Off-Network Television, gaining early experience in content distribution and syndication.
CBS Corporation
[edit]Over nearly 28 years with CBS and Paramount, Koondel held multiple leadership positions. He served as President of Paramount Television Distribution before being appointed as Chief Corporate Content Licensing Officer at CBS Corporation. In this role, he managed licensing for a range of CBS assets, including CBS Television Network, CBS Studios, Showtime, The CW, CBS Interactive, CBS News, and CBS Films.[1]
Koondel facilitated early licensing partnerships with streaming platforms such as Netflix and Hulu, helping redefine how content was monetized in the digital age. He also pioneered new windowing strategies for scripted series, laying groundwork for modern streaming-native content models.[2]
Sox Entertainment
[edit]In 2021, Koondel launched Sox Entertainment, headquartered at CBS Studio Center in Studio City, California. The company specializes in:
