Satya Periyava - HH Satya Chandrashekarendra Saraswati Swamiji is the 71st Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. He was ordained as a Shankaracharya by His Guru Bala Periyava HH Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamiji, on April 30th 2025 ay Kamakshi Amman temple in Kanchipuram. That day's tithi was Akshaya Tritiyai and the nakshatram star was Rohini and it was a Shubha Muhurtham day!
The new Shankaracharya was born om April 30th 2001 to parents Shri Surya Subramanya Dhanvantari and Smt Alivelu manga in Tuni in Vrusha telugu year, Vasantharuthu, vuttarayanam in Vishakha month, Shukla Sapthami on a Monday in Pushyami star nakshatram, He became a Trivedi completing Ruk, Yajur and Samaveda and became Salakshna Ghanapati.
His poorvaashrama name (ie, name before He became a Shankaracharya) was Duddu Satya Venkata Surya Subramanya Ganesha Sharma Dravid. He had initially served as a Rigveda Adhyaapaka scholar at Basara Jnana Saraswati Devastanam in Telangana.
