Sangeetha Srikanth is an Indian playback singer primarily active in Malayalam cinema, with credits in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. She first gained public attention as a mega-finalist on Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa during her school years.Her playback debut came in the 2007 film Chotta Mumbai with the song “Poonila Mazha” (composer Rahul Raj) .She has since sung over 40 songs in films such as Aby, Maheshinte Prathikaram, Rajamma @ Yahoo, and Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya.
Early life and musical training
[edit]Sangeetha began Carnatic vocal training early and later pursued Hindustani music training. Her appearance on reality television, including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, was her first significant break.
Career
[edit]Rahul Raj offered her debut opportunity in Chotta Mumbai (2007). She then worked on numerous Malayalam films, earning recognition for both duet and solo performances. Her style blends classical training with emotional expression suited to cinematic music. In 2023, Sangeetha Sreekanth received wider recognition for her vocals in the song “Chilu Chilu Chilanka” from the Malayalam film *Dance Party*, composed by Bijibal with lyrics by Santhosh Varma.[1]
Personal life
[edit]Sangeetha Srikanth is married to filmmaker and actor Srikant Murali, known for his work in Malayalam cinema. The couple met during a reality show program in Kerala and entered into a love marriage. [2]
They have a son named Madhavan.[3]
Live performances
[edit]Sangeetha has performed in various festivals and music shows across Kerala, often sharing stage space with veteran singers like K. J. Yesudas.
