The Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is one of Samsung's lesser-known mid-range models, introduced around 2017.

Specifications

[edit]

Design and display

[edit]

The phone sports a 5.5‑inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 × 1280 pixels (about 267 PPI). It follows the typical mid-range design of its time—a plastic body with a glass front (often featuring some form of protective glass like Corning Gorilla Glass). Its dimensions and slim profile (roughly between 7.5 and 8.6 mm thick) mean it's compact and light (around 167 to 170 grams), making it easy to handle in everyday use

Performance and hardware

[edit]

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 chipset with a quad‑core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. Coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD slot. The device was designed to handle basic tasks like browsing, social media, and lighter apps rather than high‑intensity gaming or multitasking.

Software

[edit]

Depending on regional variants, it comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow or even Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung's TouchWiz Grace UX interface guiding the user experience. While many units of the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro originally ran Android 6.0.1 or Android 7.0, Samsung did roll out an update on some models to Android 8.1.0 paired with Samsung Experience 9.5.
