Once these are stripped away, there's really not a lot of sourcing about the content or reception of SK13 to suggest notability per WP:GNG. SK13: Kubrick's Endgame

SK13: Kubrick’s Endgame is a 2025 documentary film directed by Tony Zierra about Stanley Kubrick that covers Kubrick's body of work with a focus on Kubrick’s final film Eyes Wide Shut.

When it opened in July 1999, Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut faced harsh criticism from many reviewers.[1][2] [3] [4] Critics and audiences, expecting a titillating, star-driven spectacle, were left perplexed and disappointed by this highly anticipated finale, dismissing it as the folly of a once-great director. Instead of cementing Kubrick’s legacy, the film seemingly tarnished it.[5]

Director Tony Zierra refused to accept that Stanley Kubrick concluded his illustrious career with a failure.[6] [7] Zierra embarked on a decades long quest to uncover the secrets behind Eyes Wide Shut and understand why Kubrick considered it his “greatest contribution to the art of filmmaking” [8][9]

Production

SK13: Kubrick's Endgame took decades to make. While Zierra and his producing partner, Elizabeth Yoffe, were interviewing participants for SK13 they met Kubrick's assistant Leon Vitali.[10] They made the decision to pause in the middle of production for SK13 and tell Vitali's story instead. Zierra describes the switch from one Kubrick themed film to another as a tough transition. [11] The film about Vitali became the acclaimed documentay Filmworker that premiered at the Cannes Film in 2017 [12][13][14][15][16][17] In the years following the release of Filmworker, Zierra continued to work on SK13: Kubrick's Endgame. [18]

After seeing a screener of SK13: Kubrick's Endgame journalist TJ Coles [19][20][21] wrote a piece for Counterpunch about the documentary titled "We Still Have Ours Eyes Wide Shut To Modern Slavery". In the piece Coles wrote, "For Kubrick geeks, SK13 is a revelation about what really happened to the director’s final masterwork following his unexpected death, just three days after delivering an edit to Warner Bros. For those who hated EWS, the documentary offers a vital revision." [22]

Premiere

SK13: Kubrick's Endgame had it's theatrical premiere on July 18,2025[23] [24][25] at Low Cinema in New York which was founded by filmmaker John Wilson and partners. [26] The film ran for a week with Zierra's Filmworker and the new 4K of Barry Lyndon. [27]
