Roots Clothing UK is a UK-based nonprofit small clothing business that has a strong focus on spreading climate awareness through "sustainable fashion". The clothing website is also home to a blog where discussion on current affairs and climate crisis can be found.[1]
Founders
[edit]Roots was set up by a 'passionate group of 15–16 year old students on a mission to make a positive impact through sustainable fashion'[1], originally being a business studies project it has now 'blossomed into a real world venture with a purpose'.[1]
Campaigns
[edit]As well as being a Clothing Marketplace, the organisation has launched product collections around its campaigns: Rooted in Harmony[2] and Save our Seas.[3] All profits from these campaigns have also gone towards environmentally based charities.
Collaborations
[edit]In Spring 2025, Roots will partner with the Dartmoor Preservation Society in order to hold a competition of art and design themed around the Landscapes of Dartmoor with young people between 6-18 taking part, these designs will then be used to inspire the design of the new Dartmoor Clothing Collection, all proceeds will go towards the Girls Do Dartmoor Charity.[4][5]
An article about this competition was also written 15 January 2025 in the Okehampton Times.[6]
