Submission declined on 21 February 2025 by CNMall41 (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of films). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Declined by CNMall41 5 months ago. | ![]() |

Comment: I am not so sure this replicates another page already in existence. However, the sources used are not considered reliable for showing notability. CNMall41 (talk) 23:50, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
Comment: This draft duplicates the mainspace article Room 8 (film).Perhaps the author should just improve that. 4.37.252.50 (talk) 00:34, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

Room 8 is a 2024 documentary film about the famous Elysian Heights Elementary school cat. The film was written and directed by Scott Mabbutt and features several former students who went to school with Room 8. The film had a premiere screening at Panavision in March 2024 and screened at Back to School night at Elysian Heights Elementary School, the very school where Room 8 the cat called home.
The film has won several film-festival awards and continues to perpetuate the legend of Los Angeles most famous cat.
In August 2025, the documentary film will be part of a "Room 8 Photo Exhibition" at the Los Angeles Public Library. [1]
Featured interviews include former Elysian Heights students who went to school with Room 8, Roger Vargo and Dave Pierce. Other interviews include the current principal of the school, Emilio Garza and classroom 8 teacher Vanity Amano. Famed author Kimberly Hamilton reads excerpts from one of her books that features Room 8.
