The Reindustrialize Summit is an annual conference focused on revitalizing American manufacturing through technology and innovation. Founded in 2024 by Atomic Industries CEO Aaron Slodov, the summit convenes technology entrepreneurs, manufacturers, investors, and government officials in Detroit, Michigan.[1][2]

History

[edit]

The Reindustrialize Summit was established in 2024 as a grassroots effort to promote innovation in American manufacturing.[3] The inaugural summit took place June 25-26, 2024, at Newlab at Michigan Central in Detroit, attracting 700 participants.[3]

Organization

[edit]

The summit was founded by Aaron Slodov, CEO of Atomic Industries, alongside co-founders Falon Donohue (Partner at Narya), Gregory Bernstein (CEO of The New Industrial Corporation), and Austin Bishop (CEO of New American Industrial Alliance).[4] The event is produced by Designing America, led by CEO Kate Moon.[5]

2024 Summit

[edit]

The first Reindustrialize Summit was held June 25-26, 2024, at Newlab at Michigan Central. The sold-out event brought together 700 participants representing over $1 trillion in investable capital.[3] Speakers included:

Following the summit, founders Aaron Slodov and Austin Bishop appeared on Fox Business Network's "The Bottom Line" on July 2, 2024, to discuss how emerging technology can boost U.S. manufacturing.[9]

2025 Summit

[edit]

The second summit is scheduled for July 16-17, 2025, at Hudson's Detroit. The presenting sponsors are Rock Ventures, the family office of Dan Gilbert.[10] The summit expects over 1,000 attendees and participation from senior officials across multiple federal agencies.[5] According to NAIA leadership, the annual conference serves as a major component of the organization's membership engagement and policy agenda.[11]

Announced speakers include Ambassador Jamieson Greer (20th United States Trade Representative), Lucian Boldea (President and CEO of Honeywell Industrial Automation), Palmer Luckey (Founder of Anduril Industries), Daleep Singh (Vice Chair and Chief Global Economist at PGIM), Garry Tan (President & CEO of Y Combinator), and Cathie Wood (Founder and CEO of ARK Invest).[5] The 2025 summit features six thematic tracks: Energy Dominance, Manufacturing Technology, The American Worker, Defense and National Security, Investment Capital, and the Global Chess Board.[5]

New American Industrial Alliance

[edit]

The summit's first major outcome was the December 11, 2024 launch of the New American Industrial Alliance (NAIA), a trade association dedicated to American industrial leadership. Led by CEO Austin Bishop, NAIA advocates for industrial policies, connects entrepreneurs with policymakers, and promotes regulatory reform.[12][13][14]

NAIA was conceived during the Reindustrialize Summit, with founding leadership including Chris Power of Hadrian and Aaron Slodov of Atomic Industries.[11] The organization is backed by venture capital firms including General Catalyst, 8VC, and companies such as Palantir Technologies, Oklo Inc., and Joby Aviation.[11] Members pay between $10,000 and $250,000 for membership in the 501(c)(6) non-profit trade group.[11]

Partnerships

[edit]

In 2024, Y Combinator launched a "Techno-Industrialist Request for Startups" in collaboration with the Reindustrialize Summit and New American Industrial Alliance. The initiative seeks founders applying software capabilities to industrial production, including energy, materials, CAD, manufacturing, and biotechnology.[15]
