Ranjani is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language television series written by Prabhas Muthaiya, directed by Rajeev Prashanth Krishna, and starring M. Jeevitha, Santhosh, P. Krish, M. Sutharsanam, Sarathkumar and Salman. This serial is a friendship story about Ranjani found happiness solely in the company of four boys from her neighborhood.

The series produced by Sun Entertainment and Miracle Media. It premiered on 4 November 2024, and aired from daily at 22:00 on Sun TV and also available on the digital platform Sun NXT.[2] The series ended with 152 episodes on 6 April 2025.[3]

The series is about a woman (Ranjani) and her passionate four male friends (Amuthan, Piraba, Patta,Dilli). highlighting that friendship can coexist with romantic love and family commitments.

Development

Initially produced under the working title Thozhi,[4] the series was produced by Balasubrahmanyam with the production company Miracle Media, who produced shows such as Singapennae. The first promo was released under the title Ranjini on 21 October 2024.[5]

The concept of the show was originally based on Vikraman's 1990 film Pudhu Vasantham.[6]

Casting

M. Jeevitha was cast in the titular role of Ranjini opposite Santhosh.[4] At the time of casting, Jeevitha had been participating in the television series Singapennae; Jeevitha would end up leaving his role there in order to join the Ranjini cast.[7] Actor Santhosh was cast as Seenu, marking his return after Idhayam.[4]

Release

The first promo was released on 21 October 2024, featuring M. Jeevitha, P. Krish, M. Sutharsanam, Sarathkumar and Salman. The second and third promos were unveiled on 24 and 28 October, which gave insight into Heroine Introduction and revealing the release date.[5]

The show started airing on Sun TV on 4 November 2024 From Monday to Sunday, replacing Malli serial.[8]

The show started airing on Sun TV on 4 November 2024 From Monday to Sunday at 21:30 (IST) replacing Malli time slot. From Monday 23 December 2024, the show was shifted to 22:00 (IST).[8]
