Rajesh Dandotiya (born 13 June 1975) is an Indian police officer and author. He is noted for his work in cybercrime prevention and gained significant media attention for his response to a "digital arrest" scam in 2024.[1] He currently serves as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Crime Branch, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. [edit]Dandotiya is an officer in the Madhya Pradesh Police. As Additional DCP of the Crime Branch in Indore, he has overseen operations against cybercrime networks in India. In 2024, Dandotiya received media attention when individuals posing as senior officials attempted a "digital arrest" scam against him. He reportedly engaged with the scammers via video call while in uniform, and the incident was reported in national media.[2]
Under his leadership, the Indore Crime Branch uncovered a "digital arrest" fraud operation based in Delhi, leading to arrests across multiple states.[3][4]
Reports indicate that cyber fraud incidents in Indore and nearby areas have decreased following his efforts in both law enforcement and public education.[5]
