Biography
[edit]Aamir Naik (born 1 March 2002), legally Raja Amir Ahmed Naik, is an Indian singer, songwriter, musician, and actor from Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir[1]. A self‑taught vocalist and guitarist, he began performing publicly in 2018 during secondary school in Ramban and later pursued a civil engineering degree at Bhargava College of Engineering and Technology in Samba, Jammu[2] . Naik launched his musical career with the SoundCloud release of his debut rap single “Farak,” followed by the music video “Udaan[3],” both of which earned widespread attention on YouTube and digital streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, Amazon Music, Napster, Tidal, and Deezer . His distinctive style—blending rap, hip‑hop, and traditional Kashmiri folk influences—has resonated with youth across the Kashmir Valley, particularly through socially conscious tracks such as “Nit Khair Manga” . Naik has also appeared in regional music videos and collaborated with platforms like MTV and Zee Music, garnering recognition as one of Jammu and Kashmir’s rising artists[4]. Born into a supportive family, his father Shahijahan Naik is a BSF inspector and his mother Gulshan Begum a homemaker. He is the second of four children, with an elder sister and two younger brothers.
