History
[edit]The original Quamichan School opened in 1883 at what is now 5847 Indian Road, Duncan. It was built on land purchased by the Bishop of British Columbia with money donated by Baroness Angela Burdett-Coutts.[1] The current Quamichan School was opened in 1961 at 2515 Beverly Street. In 2013, Quamichan merged with Cowichan Secondary to form a dual campus model. In 2018, the school board voted in favour of dissolving the dual campus model, making Quamichan and Cowichan Secondary two separate schools.[2]
