Pratham Lonial is a Canadian youth leader, social advocate, and student recognized for his contributions to equity and income inequality initiatives. He is a member of the 2024–2025 Peace Innovators Scholarship and Mentoring Program, a collaboration between The Ripple Effect Education (TREE) and the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement at Conrad Grebel University College, University of Waterloo.[1]

Early life and education

Lonial began his early education at Delhi Public School, Dwarka, in India. During his time there, he served as Boys’ Captain for Class V in the 2017–2018 academic year.[2] He also competed in martial arts, winning first place in the Inter-School Tang Soo Do Championship in 2015 and securing other medals in inter-school competitions.[3]

After relocating to Canada, Lonial participated in various academic and extracurricular activities. In 2021, he earned a Bronze Medallion at the Waterloo-Wellington Science & Engineering Fair for his project titled The Nose Knows, which explored sensory perception.[4]

Peace Innovators Program

In 2024, Lonial was selected for the Peace Innovators program, which mentors high school students in creating community-based solutions to social issues. His project focuses on reducing income inequality and promoting equitable access to resources.[1]

Recognition

Lonial has been recognized for his academic, scientific, and social leadership, combining scholastic achievement with a commitment to community development.
