Dr. Paula Hernández Burgos is an American cardiologist based in Tampa, Florida. She works in the fields of internal medicine, adult echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
Education
[edit]Hernández Burgos earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and MD from the University of Puerto Rico in 2013. During her studies, she developed an interest in heart health and decided to specialize in cardiology. She completed her residency at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine, where she trained in diagnosing and managing various medical conditions.[citation needed]
After her residency, she continued her training with a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at USF. She studied advanced heart imaging techniques such as echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. She also gained experience in preventing, diagnosing, and treating heart and vascular diseases.[citation needed]
She is a member of the American College of Cardiology.[1]

[edit]Hernández Burgos is affiliated with AdventHealth[2] Tampa, AdventHealth Carrollwood, and James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital-Tampa.
Hernández Burgos focuses on preventing heart disease through early intervention and lifestyle management. She helps patients understand how daily habits impact heart health. She also works to improve healthcare access for minority communities. In addition, she has an interest in women’s heart health, particularly the different risk factors women face compared to men.[3]
She has contributed to cardiology research, particularly in advanced heart imaging techniques. Her studies have also examined rare cardiovascular infections and how they can be better managed.[citation needed]
