Passaredo Linhas Aéreas Flight 2231 was a domestic flight from São Paulo to Vitória da Conquista. On August 25, 2010, the aircraft had a tailstrike and both engines hit the ground while on approach to Pedro Otacílio. All 27 people on board survived, but two people received minor injuries. One of the aircraft's engines caught fire, but was extinguished rapidly.[1] On the same day, a Filair Let-L-410 crashed due to a crocodile.

Aircraft

[edit]

The aircraft was a ten-year-old Embraer 145. It was delivered to Crossair and was registered HB-JAI. It was then delivered to Swiss International Air Lines following Crossair's disestablishment. Then it was delivered to Finncomm Airlines. Later it was delivered to Passaredo Linhas Aereas. The aircraft only had two months with Voepass. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Accident

[edit]

The aircraft took off from São Paulo for a flight to Conquista. The aircraft's gears hit a small mound. Then the aircraft skidded off the runway and overran its left side.[2][3]
