Pakistan International School Jeddah or PISJ abbreviated, (Arabic: المدرسة الباكستانية العالمية جدة; Urdu: پاکستان انٹرنیشنل سکول جدہ ), is an elementary and secondary school for the children of Pakistani nationals in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with boys and girls classes ranging from KG-1 to Higher Secondary School Education. It is a public school. The school is affiliated with Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education and is an approved examination center for Federal board, Allama Iqbal Open University, University of Karachi and University of Punjab. It was founded in 1959 by Pakistan Embassy School.[1] The school's motto is "My Lord! Increase me in knowledge!". The school's staff is 200 (est.) and students 3000 (est.).[2] The school is part of global International Pakistani Schools, which also includes PISJ ES - Pakistan International School Jeddah - English Section.

History

Initially, there were two buildings in Al-Baghdadia. It accommodated a large number of students in two shifts a day. The need for a new building was felt, so in 1984 a new building was prepared with facilities like air-conditioned classrooms, two libraries, five science labs, two language labs, two computer labs and a clinic.[3]

The school offers FBISE and CCS education and examination.[4]

Affiliations

The school is affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education and Cambridge International Education. The FBISE School Code is 7720.[5]

Controversy

In recent years, PISJ has been targeted by Ministry of Education and Saudi government to evict the school.[6] Fortunately, The situation has come to a stop.[7]

In 2020, PISJ won U-19 Inter-school cricket tournament held by Saudi Cricket Center.[8]
