Oxylabs.io is a Lithuanian technology company that provides public web data collection tools and proxy infrastructure.[1][2][3] The company was founded in Tesonet accelerator[4], established by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas.[5][6][7][8]

It collaborates with Bellingcat[9], Debunk.org, an organization dedicated to countering online disinformation, Global Witness, International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, and public universities.[10][11][12]

History

[edit]

Oxylabs.io was established in 2015 as a provider of datacenter proxies.[13][14][15] The company expanded its product suite in 2017 with the launch of residential proxies and data acquisition service.[16][17]

In 2020, Oxylabs.io introduced a framework for ethical proxy sourcing and announced that its proxy pool had reached over 102 million IP addresses.[18] That same year, the company launched additional tools and APIs for web scraping.[19] In 2022, Oxylabs.io initiated Project 4β, aimed at supporting pro bono partnerships. It was also among the founding members of the Ethical Web Data Collection Initiative.[20] The same year, the company was also included in the Financial Times list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies—a recognition it maintained in 2023 and 2024.[21][22][23]

In 2024, Oxylabs launched OxyCopilot, an AI-powered assistant designed to help users build data scraping and parsing requests using natural language prompts.[24] In the same year, the company’s patent portfolio reached 100 patents.[25] In 2025, Oxylabs’ AI-powered tool OxyCopilot won in the Webby Awards.[26] In July of the same year, Oxylabs launched AI Studio that let users extract data using natural‑language prompts.[27][28] Oxylabs proxy pool is sourced globally, including the US, UK, Germany, China, Canada, Japan, and others.[29][30] In June 2025, it acquired French-based ScrapingBee startup.[31][32] Per French FrenchWeb the total sum is around 10 mln euros, paid from the funds of Oxylabs.io.[33]
