Draft:Novarabet

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: Several of the new sources do not need to exist; the only one I can confirm is the Inilah article (which mentions the subject "in passing" and therefore doesn't demonstrate notability). Notability requires the existence of multiple sources independent of each other and the subject that provide significant coverage. Anerdw (talk) 04:08, 6 June 2025 (UTC)

Novarabet (born in Bali, Indonesia) is an Indonesian musician, songwriter, and music producer. He is best known for winning the Yamaha Asian Beat 2004 band competition, where he received the "Best Drummer of Asia" award.[1] He is a verified artist on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal, and is listed in the MusicBrainz database.[2]

Musical evolution

[edit]

Novarabet co-founded Smesta, a progressive rock band active in the early 2000s. The group gained recognition in Indonesia’s underground scene for blending traditional Indonesian elements with rock music.[3] In 2004, Smesta released a cassette album titled Senyum Dunia through the Indonesian major label Alfa Records.

In 2004, he performed with Topeng Band and Indonesian singer Anji at the Yamaha Asian Beat competition. The group won the Grand Prize, and Novarabet was named "Best Drummer of Asia".[1][4][5]

Following his early rock career, Novarabet transitioned into electronic music as a solo artist. He has released several independent singles through digital platforms, including "Only Love" (2021) and "Inseparable" (2022).[2]
