Nidhi Hegde is an Indian actress who appears primarily in Kannada cinema. She is known for her roles in films such as Dollu (2022), Shakhahaari (2024), 777 Charlie, Saptha Sagaradaache Ello – Side A, and Shivaji Surathkal 2.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Nidhi Hegde was born and raised in Karnataka, India. She completed her undergraduate studies at St. Francis de Sales College, Bengaluru, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Journalism, and English Literature between 2013 and 2016.[2] She later pursued a Diploma in Acting at the Annapurna College of Film and Media in Hyderabad, receiving formal training in screen acting and film theory.[3]
Career
[edit]Hegde began her acting career with independent short films such as Naan Devru (2019) and Nuttah: The Unborn Heart (2020). Her performance in Neeli Hakki (2021), where she portrayed a single mother, received attention for its naturalistic style and use of sync sound.[4]
She made her feature film debut in Dollu (2022), directed by Sagar Puranik. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada at the 68th National Film Awards. NIdhi played the role of Priya in the film, which explored traditional drumming art forms in Karnataka.
Following this, she appeared in supporting roles in films such as 777 Charlie (2022), Saptha Sagaradaache Ello – Side A (2023), and Shivaji Surathkal 2 (2023).[5]
In 2024, she played the lead role of Saugandhika in the psychological thriller Shakhahaari, acting alongside Rangayana Raghu and Gopala Krishna Deshpande.
She is also part of the upcoming film Ravana Rajyadalli Navadampathigalu, directed by Ranga, which is currently in post-production.[6]
