Comment: Flatwater free press source is good, but it's WP:SIGCOV of the youth Nobel poet laureate, not NWC itself. The Read Poetry source appears to be self-published. In a search of newspapers.com, I found a local interest story and a couple of mentions but nothing useful to add to this article. I don't think this meets WP:NORG or WP:GNG. Nebraska Writers Collective (NWC) is an Omaha-based 501c3 nonprofit founded in 2008.
The organization is responsible for the annual All Writes Reserved Youth Poetry Festival (known previously as Louder Than a Bomb: Great Plains [1] from 2012-2022) as well as other writing programs in high schools, middle schools, correctional facilities [2] and more.
The NWC is responsible for choosing and supporting the Nebraska Youth Poet Laureate each year. [3] This program works in conjunction with Urban Word who selects the National_Youth_Poet_Laureate.
Their Writers Block program serves incarcerated individuals in Nebraska correctional facilities.[4]
The NWC collaborates with community organizations such as Opera_Omaha[5], the Joslyn_Art_Museum[6] and others. It has received awards from the National_Endowment_for_the_Arts[7], the Nebraska Arts Council, and many more.
The organization was founded by Ryan Pozzi (formerly Ryan Tewell) who served as Executive Director until 2009 when poet Matt Mason succeeded him. After Mason stepped down in 2022, he was succeeded by Co-Executive Directors Zedeka Poindexter and Gina Tranisi.
The NWC is listed as a Nebraska literary resource by the Nebraska Center for the Book,[8] the Nebraska Poetry Society[9] and others.
