Draft:National Technical Schools

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: This is a fascinating story but I'm not sure the three sources other than LA Times are reliable, and the LA Times piece only mentions the most recent name of the school. I couldn't find more in archive.org, Google Books or Google Scholar, which seems odd. Maybe try searching using different names? Or try the archives of Popular Mechanics and Popular Science? I don't know if they're digitised that far back, it might require a visit to a library. I would love the story about Vrena Bender Rosenkrantz being fascinated by automobiles and starting a school to be true but need verification. Lijil (talk) 06:47, 13 June 2025 (UTC)

National Technical Schools was founded by Vrena Bender Rosenkrantz[1] in 1905, as National School of Engineering,[2] at 4000 South Figeiroa Street, Los Angeles, California.[3] National School of Engineering was later renamed National Schools. In the 1950s, there was an office in Chicago, Illinois. Around 1970 the school was renamed National Technical Schools. In 1985, National Technical Schools was sold to United Education & Software, an Encino-based trade school operator, and went bankrupt in 1989.[4] In 1998, the building was torn down.
