Natalia Ojeda del Pozo (born 1972) is a Spanish clinical psychologist, neuropsychologist, and academic.
Professional career
[edit]Ojeda studied Psychology at the University of Deusto (1990–1995). She trained in clinical practice at the University of Oxford and completed a postgraduate degree in Clinical Neuropsychology and Neuroimaging Techniques at Johns Hopkins Hospital (1995–1997). She has worked at the University of Deusto since 1999, where she obtained her PhD in Psychology in 2000. Since then she held various scientific positions at the University of Deusto and became a full professor of Neuropsychology in 2017.[1]
Ojeda has been the principal investigator in multiple neuroscience research projects, specializing in cognitive deterioration and degenerative brain diseases.[2] She has authored more than 100 scientific articles and 20 books. In 2023, she was elected as the President of the International Neuropsychological Society (INS),[3] becoming the first Spanish individual to hold this position.[4] In 2025, she was awarded the Radio Bilbao Excellence in Research Prize.[5]
Natalia Ojeda is a full member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of the Basque Country[6] and the Hispanamerican Academy of Doctors.[7] She also serves on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FESN)[8] and the Expert Committee of the World Health Organization.[9]
She is the creator of the neuropsychological rehabilitation programs RehacoP and RehacoG, recognized by the European Union as best clinical practices.[10] [11]
