Nakay Kpaka (born Nyakeh Kpaka, 1990)[1] is an English actor.

Born in London to Muslim Sierra Leonean parents[2], Kpaka attended Drama Centre London[1] whose alumni include Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Emilia Clarke, Helen McCrory, Colin Firth, and Pierce Brosnon, graduating from the BA Acting course in 2014.[3]

In May 2014, Kpaka was added to the cast of the ITV television series Grantchester (TV series).[4] In July of 2014, he joined the cast of Chris Chibnall's BAFTA-winning TV drama Broadchurch, playing the son of Oscar-nominated British actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste.[5]

In 2015 Kpaka then appeared in Tom Stoppard's comedy-drama Arcadia (play) as Ezra Chater, produced by English Touring Theatre with Dakota Blue Richards leading.[6]

The following year in 2016 Kpaka then appeared in Much Ado About Nothing as Cludio, produced by Theatr Clwyd and directed by Tamara Harvey.[7]

In July 2016 Kpaka was then cast in his first feature film as Reg in the ensemble cast thriller The Commuter starring Oscar-nominated actor Liam Neeson, directed by Juame Collet-Serra, with release by Studio Canal and Lionsgate.[8] Principal photography started July 25 2016 at Pinewood Studios[9], with additional photography in New York City.[10]

In October 2016, Kpaka was convicted for sexual assault and sentenced to 8 years' imprisonment.[11][12]
