The NAC Daddy is an endurance and weightlifting sequence of athletic challenges.
Origin
[edit]The regimen was designed by Steven Pray at the Newtown Athletic Club (NAC), in Newtown, PA in the spring of 2025. Simply shared as a 'day of challenges', with friends Dave Ware, Zach Cook, and Bill Hludzinski, the challenge caught on and became a popular hit at the gym.
Description
[edit]The challenges include:
- 1 mile walk carrying a 100lb load in under 1 hour (optimally 24 minutes).
- Run a 5k and bench press body weight in under 40 minutes.
- Row 2000m and bench press body weight in under 20 minutes (optimally 14 minutes).
The three tasks are given in order but not required to be completed in order. However, they must be completed within one 24 hour period.
Associated Rituals
[edit]The challenge is a sign of competency and manliness as determined by Steven Pray, and all who complete it are worthy of approbation and moniker 'Champion'. If repeated, the 'Champion' is entitled to a high-five the next time he is in the presence of other weight-lifters. Only those who have completed a NAC Daddy may be referred to as 'Champion'.
