Venne was president of the Alberta Native Peoples' Credit Union, which opened on November 15th, 1976. [2] She was appointed to an advisory panel for the Apprenticeship and Industry Training Review Committee in July 1987.[3]
Political career

In 1975, Venne ran for the Edmonton-Highlands electoral district.[4](find better source), she ran for the Edmonton East electoral district in 1984,[5]

1988 she ran in the Yellowhead district,[6] and in 2012, she ran for the Edmonton-South West electoral district. https://web.archive.org/web/20120410214543/https://albertandp.ca/candidates (preferably find non-primary source)
Is there a table for these kinds of things? I feel like this just reads really redundantly as prose.
Awards
[edit]Venne earned the Alberta Human Rights Award in 1998.[7]
In 2004, Venne earned an Indspire Award, then named the National Aboriginal Achievement Award, in the category of Law & Justice. https://www.proquest.com/newspapers/three-albertans-receive-top-awards-natives/docview/245163036/se-2?accountid=196403 (figure out how to cite proquest)
In 2005, she earned the Governor General's Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case.[7]
She was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2005, and became a member of the Alberta Order of Excellence in 2019.[1]

[edit]-remember to write a short description
check some non-edmonton journal archives so it doesn't look like she's ONLY seen as notable there--she's been in news province-wide with some national coverage. some more references outside alberta would doubly help. edmonton just happens to be where she's done a lot of work, so it made sense to check there first

-not MUCH useful here, but look into the Edmonton Race Relations Council to see if you can find when she joined/left. Sounds interesting, but without dates I can't really slot it in.
