Mohamed El Hamdy (born May 24, 1993, in Casablanca, Morocco) is a Moroccan data specialist and independent researcher. He is recognized for his contributions to civic technology, artificial intelligence applications in public policy, and economic research. He is notably one of the key team members behind the project Open Mizania Maroc, aiming to promote government transparency and accessibility of Morocco’s public finance data.
Achievements
[edit]El Hamdy co-developed Open Mizania Maroc, a civic tech initiative that promotes open budget data for Moroccan citizens. The platform won second prize at the 2025 Open data hackathon organized by Morocco’s Agence du Développement du Digital, in collaboration with inwi and other partners.[1]
His contribution was cited in L’Opinion, highlighting his involvement among a multidisciplinary team: “À mes côtés, il y a Mme Nora Samiri, M. Oussama Laghchim, M. Yassine Idrissi, M. Mohamed El Hamdy et Mme Nabaouia Louridi.”[2]
