Mohamed Belhaj is a Tunisian engineer and PhD in management sciences, known for his commitment to pedagogical innovation and university entrepreneurship. He held several leadership positions at the University of Sfax, where he played a key role in establishing career centers, modernizing teaching practices, and promoting student startups.[1] He also contributed to the design and coordination of international projects under the Tempus programme, Erasmus+, and the PAQ programs, aiming to transform higher education in Tunisia.[2]
Early life and education
[edit]Born into a merchant family in the medina of Sfax, Mohamed Belhaj graduated from the National School of Engineers of Sfax (ENIS) in 1988. He later earned a doctorate in management sciences from the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sfax in 2017. From the beginning of his career, he was passionate about integrating digital technologies into education.
Career
[edit]From 1988 to 2000, he worked at the CNBIM and the National Institute of Microinformatics (INBMI), contributing to the "Informatique pour tous" project and the introduction of internet into the Tunisian education system. He also hosted a popular computer literacy TV program, "Sâdiqi el Hâssoub," on Canal 21.[3]
Since 2000, he has held various positions at the University of Sfax. He successively directed several innovation and entrepreneurship support structures such as the CAPNT, the CUIES, the CUITTS, the 4C Career Center, and the Pôle Étudiant Entrepreneur de Sfax (PEES).
