PT Mitra Hub Indonesia commonly(abbreviated as MHI), is a retail company based in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The company was founded in January 2014 by Choi Tae Sung,[1][2] and focuses on electronic products such as Smartphones, Tablets, Wearable Devices, and Accessories under the Samsung brand.

MHI operates three types of Samsung outlets [3], consisting of the Samsung Experience Store (SES), Samsung Premium Store (SPS), and Samsung Multiexperience Store (SMS)[4]. The company emphasizes an experience-based retail model in its physical stores, involving direct interaction with products, spatial arrangement, and customer service. This concept is implemented in several outlets, including the SMS store at Bandung Electronic Center (BEC).[5]

History

[edit]

PT Mitra Hub Indonesia was established in January 2014 as an official partner of Samsung Electronics Indonesia by Choi Tae Sung, who has a background in technology. The company aims to develop the technology retail industry in Indonesia by establishing retail outlets in various cities across the country.

At the time of its founding, the company managed six Samsung outlets in several cities, including Bandung, Jakarta, Bekasi, Surabaya, Depok, and Malang. In its first five years, the number of outlets steadily increased from 9 in 2015 to 33 in 2017. In 2018, MHI received recognition from industry partners, including awards from Samsung and XL Axiata for its partnership and performance in retail distribution.

In line with Samsung’s innovation and growth in Indonesia, MHI continued its expansion, reaching a total of 67 outlets by 2022. This number grew further to 71 in 2023 and 75 in 2024. As of 2025, MHI manages more than 75 outlets located in Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java.[2]

Partnerships and Collaborations

[edit]

As an official partner of Samsung, the company is actively involved in various activities and campaigns organized by Samsung Indonesia. One such participation was in a campaign promoting the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology held at Cibinong City Mall.[6] In addition, the company collaborates with several financial institutions to support convenient payment options for customers, including installment programs and joint promotions with partner banks.[7]
