Mila Born

(born 1972)[1] is a Russian-language writer, poet, and screenwriter based in Germany. She is a member of the Union of Writers of the 21st Century and has published prose, poetry, and screenplays in various Russian and international literary magazines. Her work has been recognized in several literary awards and anthologies.

Life and education

Born in 1972, Mila Born graduated from the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute and the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow. Since 2010, she has been living in Germany, where she continues her literary and editorial activities. She has also contributed to collaborative publishing projects and anthologies, including The Anthology of 21st Century Russian Literature (Periskop-Volga).

Mila Born's work has been nominated for and featured in long- and shortlists of several literary prizes, including:

In 2021, she was named "Best Prose Writer of the Year" by the literary magazine *Zinziver*. She also received a diploma at the 39th International VGIK Film Festival in the category of “Feature Film Screenplay.”
