Miha Kavčič (born 11 July 1989 in Ljubljana, Slovenia) is a Slovenian musician, singer-songwriter, performance artist, actor, and reality television personality. He is known for his emotionally charged electronic music, theatrical performances, and membership in the drag troupe Sestre. Kavčič currently lives in London and has worked extensively in music, film, and television.

Early life

Miha Kavčič was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and grew up in a working-class family. From a young age, he showed interest in music, fashion, and performance. He studied textile engineering and fashion before dedicating himself fully to the arts. Kavčič has spoken publicly about his experiences growing up queer in a conservative environment and how this influenced his creative expression.

The Confession EP (2024)

In 2024, Kavčič released the EP The Confession in collaboration with London-based producer Wax Wings. The EP, released by Citizen Records, features brooding electronic sounds exploring themes of lust, secrets, shame, and catharsis. It includes remixes by French techno artist Vitalic and darkwave musician Munsinger. The EP was praised for its artistic vulnerability and impact within underground and queer music scenes.

In 2022, Kavčič released the single Franc, a synth-pop track inspired by Slovenian cosmetic surgeon Dr. Franc Planinšek. The song reflects a personal connection dating back to Kavčič's teenage years. Kavčič has described recording the vocals on the anniversary of Planinšek's death as a moment of symbolic affirmation.

Kavčič is currently developing a new solo project described as emotional techno mixed with dark pop, marked by cinematic intensity and haunting vocals.

Performance and drag

Since 2015, Kavčič has been a member of the Slovenian drag troupe Sestre, known for representing Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002. He replaced former member Daphne and has performed with the group across Europe, earning standing ovations for revitalizing their iconic style. Sestre is celebrated for its elegant aesthetics, vocal harmonies, and queer visibility in Eastern and Central Europe.

Acting and screen work

Kavčič made his feature film debut in Pillion (2025), an adaptation of Adam Mars-Jones' Box Hill, starring alongside Alexander Skarsgård. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim, with Kavčič’s performance noted for its intensity and physicality.

Kmetija (2018)

He first gained national attention in Slovenia as a contestant on Kmetija, the Slovenian version of The Farm. Known for his gender-defying confidence and expressive style, Kavčič became a fan favorite and a rare queer presence on Slovenian mainstream television.
