Maurice Bouyges, S.J. (1872–1951), was a French Jesuit and Orientalist.

He was born in Aurillac, France, on November 12. He studied philosophy and then entered the Jesuit order on July 17, 1897. When he was sent to Lebanon, he entered the "Ghazir Monastery", where he learned Arabic from Father Louis Malouf, and later from Father Louis Cheikho and others. Bouyges died on January 22, 1951.[1]

Works

He has a number of writings, including a book titled "A Study on the Historical Order of al-Ghazali's Works," published in Beirut by Michel Allard.[2] A critical edition of Averroes' Talkhiç Kitab Al-Maqoulat (On the Categories [of Aristotle]).[3]
