Mahmood Alam (born 11 May 1973) is an Indian politician, Jharkhand agitator, and social activist. He serves as the National General Secretary of the Rashtriya Jankranti Morcha (RJM), a political party active in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
Alam has regularly contested Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections from the Mandu constituency since 2009. His campaigns focus on improving access to education, healthcare, industrial development, and addressing labor migration from the region.
In June 2025, Mahmood Alam launched the *Mission Mandu 2025* initiative, aimed at accelerating grassroots-level development in his constituency and highlighting key issues such as worker migration and underdevelopment in Jharkhand.[1][2]
He was born in Bishnugarh, Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand. As a political figure, Alam has over four decades of experience in grassroots activism. He has also served as National General Secretary of the Jharkhand Andolankari Sangharsh Morcha, an organization that advocates for the rights of activists involved in the Jharkhand statehood movement after the state's separation from Bihar in 2000.[3]
