MAAS Automation Services Ltd, trading as MAAS Marketing, is a UK-based marketing agency specialising in internal communications, employee engagement, and strategic enablement for People functions, including Learning and Development (L&D), Human Resources, Talent, and Internal Communications. Founded in 2019 by Ashley Hinchcliffe (née Sinclair), the company operates remotely and serves clients across the UK and internationally.

MAAS is known for integrating marketing principles into internal employee strategies, helping organisations improve the adoption, visibility, and impact of their People initiatives. The agency has received multiple industry awards and is the creator of the People Impact Loop®, a framework designed to align employee experience with business priorities.

History

MAAS Marketing was founded in 2019 by Ashley Hinchcliffe, a former Chief Marketing Officer with experience across B2B and People-focused sectors. The company began as a consultancy focused on helping L&D teams improve internal visibility and engagement, but rapidly expanded into a full-service agency working across the broader People function.

In its early years, MAAS gained recognition as a challenger brand within the learning industry. The company was named a finalist at the Learning Awards in both 2021 and 2022, and won several industry accolades thereafter. By 2022, it had launched its first professional development course, Strategic Marketing for L&D, and began supporting enterprise clients through training, campaigns, and strategic consulting.

In 2025, MAAS launched the People Impact Loop®, a proprietary five-phase framework that became central to its methodology for designing high-impact People strategies and internal engagement.

People Impact Loop®

The People Impact Loop®, launched in 2025, is a strategic operating model designed to help People teams work more proactively and deliver measurable business value. The model blends marketing, behavioural science, and product thinking to create a repeatable rhythm of strategic planning and execution.

The five phases are:

  1. Employee & Business Insights – Gathering data and feedback to understand organisational context and employee needs.
  2. Strategic Business Alignment – Translating insights into performance goals and aligning with business priorities.
  3. Employee Experience Design – Designing relevant, personalised experiences that drive behavioural change.
  4. Employee Engagement & Campaigns – Using internal marketing to raise awareness, build anticipation, and drive adoption.
  5. Measure Impact & Boost Value – Measuring outcomes and refining strategies to continuously improve and prove impact.
