Lee Dedmon was a 6’10 Basketball Center for the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball between 1968 and 1971.[1]His most notable accolade is the 1971 All-ACC tournament MVP. As a junior and senior Dedmon led the Tarheels in rebounding.[2]Dedmon was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 5th round, 81st overall in the 1971 NBA draft[3] [4][5] but he never played a game in the NBA. He was drafted higher than Hall of Famer Artis Gilmore.[6]
Education Career
[edit]Dedmon served as the principal of Highland School of Technology between 2000 and 2013[7]. Dedmon currently serves on the Gaston County Board of Education.[8]
