The Space Instrumentation Laboratory LINX
[edit]The Space Instrumentation Laboratory LINX is part of the Institute of Nuclear Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). It was founded and is currently directed by Dr. Gustavo Medina-Tanco, a physicist and researcher in the Department of High Energy Physics, as well as a professor at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences at UNAM.[1]
The laboratory’s main areas of focus include the development and construction of space and stratospheric instrumentation, as well as the training of highly qualified human resources in the space sector. Throughout its history, LINX has collaborated with international space agencies such as NASA and CNES, contributing to the development of various instruments.
Among its most notable projects are the JEM-EUSO and Mini-EUSO telescopes[2]. LINX is also responsible for COLMENA-1, the first lunar mission led by Latin America.[3]
