Francis Kuria Kimani is a Kenyan politician and accountant serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Molo Constituency in Nakuru County, Kenya. He was elected to the National Assembly in 2017 and re-elected in 2022 under the United Democratic Alliance party.[1]
Education and Early Career
[edit]Kimani earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Kenyatta University and a Master of Commerce in International Business Management from Strathmore University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is pursuing a PhD in International Business Management at the University of Nairobi.[1]
Prior to entering politics, he worked in finance and accounting roles, including positions at the United States Catholic Mission Society and Meyous Networking Solutions. He also served as a director at Waumini Sacco Limited.[1]
Parliamentary Career
[edit]In the National Assembly, Kimani has served on several committees and is the current Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning. He has participated in legislative debates on tax policy, budget management, and financial sector reforms.[2]
He has contributed to bills related to public finance, insurance, and digital taxation.[3]
Affiliations
[edit]Kimani is affiliated with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), and has participated in regional parliamentary networks such as the Africa Young Parliamentarians Network.[4]
Honours
[edit]In recognition of his public service, he was awarded the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS), a presidential honor.[5]
