Kraig Paulson is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the defensive line coach at Sacramento State. A native of Plentywood, Montana, Paulson played fullback for the University of Montana from 1983 to 1986. He is best known for starting the tradition of passing down the iconic Montana Grizzlies #37 jersey, worn by outstanding Montana-born players.

Coaching career

Paulson began his coaching career at Montana in 1987 and later became defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. He helped the team to the 1995 NCAA Division I-AA national championship. He later coached at Utah State, UNLV, Northern State, and Southern Illinois before joining Sacramento State in 2019.

At Sacramento State, Paulson helped lead one of the most productive defensive lines in FCS, recording 44 sacks in 2019. His players have received multiple all-conference honors.

Personal life

Paulson graduated with a degree in education in 1987. He is married to Jody, and they have three sons: Keogh, Elias, and Rokken.
