Kenji Araki is an Austrian-Japanese Musician and producer known for his experimental approach to electronic music. He is based in Vienna, Austria and his work is categorized as contemporary art and music blending elements from various genres to create a unique aestethic. He has also done some interviews for notible newspapers and brands like Kronezeitung.
Early Life and Background
[edit]Kenji Araki was born in Vorarlberg, Austria,[1] and has Japanese heritage.
Career
[edit]Araki began gaining recognition in the European underground music scene with his debut album, Leidenzwang, released in June 2022[2] through Affine Records. In November 2023, Araki released his second album, Hope Chess,[3] which continues to explore genre-busting sounds but with a more sensitive approach compared to his previous work. Beyond his solo projects, Araki has collaborated with artists such as Anthea and Ybsole, forming the post-soundcloud emo band enns.
Araki's music has been featured at numerous influential festivals across Europe, including Heart of Noise, Unsafe & Sounds, Ars Electronica, MENT, and ZEZ Festival.[4] His work has been released by labels such as Affine Records.
He has also won a few awards from AI:STHETICS and others[5]
In addition to his artistic projects, Araki has contributed to commercial productions. Notably, he provided additional production for the song "Thick" by KeKe, released under Columbia/Sony Music in 2022. He also composed music for advertising campaigns, including "Lezzz go Lehre!" for POST AG and "Die Lehre für alle" for Wiener Stadtwerke.[6]
