Kelvin Sane Tauta (born 13 December 2000) is a Kenyan sprinter specialising in the 400 metres.[1] He holds the Kenyan national record for the mixed 4 × 400 metres relay.
Career
[edit]Kelvin Sane Tauta's first international experience was in 2017 at the U18 World Championships in Nairobi, whre he was eliminated in the 400 metres semifinals with a time of 47.55 seconds, and finished fourth in the mixed 4 × 400 metres relay in 3:24.92 minutes. In 2023, he competed in the men's 4 × 400 metres relay at the World Championships in Budapest, where he missed out on the final with a time of 3:01.41 minutes. The following year, he finished fourth with the men's relay team at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow with a time of 3:06.71 minutes, setting a new national record. In June, he was eliminated from the 400 metre heats at the African Championships in Douala with a time of 47.79 seconds and won a silver medal behind the Botswanan team with the men's relay team in 3:02.34 minutes, together with Kevin Kipkorir, David Sanayek Kapirante and Brian Onyari Tinega.
In 2024, Tauta came in third at the Kenyan championships in the 400 metres and competed at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
