Kakatiya Express 17659 / 17660 is an express train operated between Secunderabad and Bhadrachalam Road. It belongs to South Central Railway of Indian Railways. This Train plays very important role in Connecting all the Rural areas and backward villages in the stretch to the state Capital Hyderabad. Train gives the Direct Connectivity access enroute to the Lord SriRama Bhadrachalam Temple. A very popular and important train enrote.

History

This train was initially started as a Express service between Secunderabad and Kazipet later extended till Dornakal and degreeded to Fast passenger and used to run as Secunderabad - Dornakal Kakatiya fast Passenger after few years train was extended till Manuguru continued till 2020 and the Railway Board Decided to Upgrade all the passenger trains to express and converted to express. With the introduction of ZBTT by Indian Railways it has been decided to permanent short termination between Manuguru and Bhadrachalam Road, and Continued operation as a Secunderabad and Bhadrachalam Road Kakatiya express

Route & Halts

Stops of these train are Secunderabad, Moula Ali, Charlapalli, Ghatkesar, Bibinagar, Bhongir, Yadadri, Aler, Janagaon, Raghunathpalle, Ghanpur, Kazipet, Warangal, Chintalpalli, Yalgur, Nekonda, Inthekanne, Kesamudram, Mahabubabad, Gundratmadugu, Garla, Dornakal Junction, Pocharam, Karepalli, Ghandipuram, Tadakalpudi, Bethampudi Junction and Bhadrachalam Road.

Both trains are hauled by a Lallaguda based WAP-7 locomotive from end to end.

The train usually consists of 16 standard ICF coach:

As is customary with most other train services in India, coach composition may be amended at the discretion of Indian Railways, depending on demand.
