Joshua White is an English theoretical physicist who is a teacher of physics and astronomy at The John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge, and the tutor of a sixth form group.

Early Life and Education

White studied physics at the University of Swansea, earning a Bachelor's degree, first-class with honours, in physics in 2017[1]. Following this, he studied theoretical physics at King's College, London, earning a masters degree in theoretical physics[1]. White proceeded to apply for a Doctor of Philosophy degree for the applications of machine learning in science, but was rejected.[citation needed]

Career

White is a teacher of physics at The John of Gaunt School[1][2], and the head of the physics department[1][2]. He teaches the core science curriculum for key stages 3-4, teaches the astronomy GCSE qualification for key stage 4, and teaches physics from key stages 3-5. Besides this, he has several other roles; he is a Key Stage 5 Tutor, and is the SLICT staff representative. He has been an Associate Examiner with AQA since 2021.[1]

Formerly, White has also taught at Preston School Academy Trust, taking on roles such as the head of one of the school houses and leading the STEM Club.[1]
