Joseph E. Less (January 22, 1853–?) was a lawyer and politician in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Philadelphia. He was a leader of the Templars in Jacksonville's African American community.[1]

"Joseph E. Less (1849–1920), a Philadelphia-born lawyer and Jacksonville politician, presided for the first seven years as Grand Worthy Chief Templar. The black Grand Lodge of Florida was a small organization with about a thousand"[2]
