Jordan Shepherd (born March 4, 1997) is an American professional basketball player who plays as a combo guard for JAV Vichy in France’s Pro B league.
Early life and high school
[edit]Shepherd was born in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended Asheville Christian Academy, graduating in 2016. Over his high school career, Shepherd established himself as one of the top players in North Carolina. He was a:
- Three-time all‑conference selection
- Two-time All‑State honoree
- Conference Player of the Year as a junior
He finished as the school’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,700 points and holds multiple school records, including:
- Most points in a single season
- Most free throws made
- Highest career free‑throw percentage
Shepherd was ranked among the top 10 high school players in North Carolina in his class. He played AAU basketball for PSB Select on the Under Armour circuit, gaining national exposure and attracting multiple Division I scholarship offers before committing to the University of Oklahoma.[1]
College career
[edit]Shepherd played collegiately from 2016 to 2022 at the University of Oklahoma, UNC Charlotte, and the University of California, Berkeley.
Oklahoma (2016–2018)
[edit]- Freshman year (2016–17): averaged 4.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 17.0 minutes per game.[2]
- Sophomore year (2017–18): appeared in 31 games, averaging 2.3 points and 1.2 assists.[3]
UNC Charlotte (2019–2021)
[edit]- Sat out the 2018–19 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
- 2019–20: named All–Conference USA Third Team and team MVP, averaging 14.0 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game.[4]
- 2020–21: averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists over 25 games.[5]
California (2021–2022)
[edit]- As a graduate transfer, led Cal in scoring (14.6 PPG), steals (1.2 SPG), minutes, field goals, and free throws.[6]
- Earned All–Pac‑12 recognition and scored a season-high 33 points against Oregon, with five 20+ point games.[7]
- Finished his college career with 1,334 points.[8]

AEL Limassol (Cyprus, 2023–2024)

JAV Vichy (France Pro B, 2024–present)
