Career Early Career British Iron and Steel Research Association (1965–1968) – Worked as a research assistant, developing non-destructive analytical methods for steels and related products. Sandoz Products Ltd. (1972–1977) – Senior Research and Development Chemist at the multinational Swiss company. Led a team engaged in developing new optical brightening agents and chemical manufacturing processes, resulting in three patents. Global Chemical Company (1977–1979) – Served as Production Director, overseeing plant operations, processes, and engineering staff.

Academic and Consulting Career University of Bradford (1979–1997) - Professor of Total Quality Management and Head of the European Centre for Total Quality Management. Leeds University Business School (1997–present) - Emeritus Professor of Business Excellence & Quality Management. Oakland (1985–present) - Founder and Chairman.
