Info-Tech Research Group is a Canadian research and advisory firm that provides information technology (IT) and human resources (HR) services to enterprise and mid-sized organizations. With headquarters in London, Ontario, Canada, the company also has offices in Toronto, Arlington (Virginia), London (United Kingdom), and Sydney (Australia). As of 2025, Info-Tech employs more than 1,400 individuals.
History
[edit]Info-Tech was founded in 1997 by Joel McLean in London, Ontario. The company was originally focused on providing IT research for chief information officers (CIOs) and technology professionals. In the early 2000s, Info-Tech expanded by opening a Toronto office and launching analyst-led advisory services in 2008. In 2010, it introduced proprietary "blueprints", comprising of step-by-step project frameworks for IT planning and execution, and also launched McLean & Company, a division focused on human resources research.
In 2013, Info-Tech acquired the historic Masonic Temple in Toronto, formerly used by MTV Canada.[1]
In the 2020s, Info-Tech introduced new AI-driven tools, including the AI Marketplace Research Center and an AI assistant for members. In 2025, it expanded its annual conference, Info-Tech LIVE, to new global locations in Las Vegas, Brisbane, and Barcelona. The company also broadened its industry coverage to 22 sectors.[2] [3]

Signature An annual HR conference hosted by McLean & Company that focuses on talent strategy, leadership, and workplace culture.
Recognition

CIO Awards An annual program established in 2016 recognizing IT leaders based on stakeholder satisfaction and strategic performance.
Leadership
[edit]As of 2025, the company is led by CEO Tom Zehren. Info-Tech Research Group's founder, Joel McLean, continues to act as Chair of the Board.[8]
